Does Kevin's Head Hurt Yet?
Apologies to Cary Grant."You remind me of a man."
"What man?"
"The man with the power."
"What power?"
"The power of hoodoo."
"Hoodoo?"
"You do."
"Do what?"
"Remind me of a man."
"What man?"

www.iratefans.com
But I had to post this, in light of the travesty that already is the 2006 season.

Get it? As of this afternoon there isn't any content posted at the site yet (the domain was just registered yesterday), but if you want to read about the genesis and progress of the idea, go to the following thread at OnlyBucs:

(the real link is
http://www.baseballfans.net/piratestalk/forum.php?az=show_thread&forum=100&thread_id=169524, if that doesn't hose up in your page display)
My other favorite idea mentioned for the logo is the Pirate face with eyepatches over BOTH eyes. Har har har.
I'll see if I can get back into blogging at least by degrees, providing my sore back allows and I can come up with anything to write that isn't as pathetic as the ballteam - or more specifically, as pathetic as its ownership and management practices, although yes the team sucks too. If nothing else, I should be good for some snark once the ESPN bozos roll into the Burgh this July for the All-Star Circus Game. McClatchy may wish he had never run whining to Selig to get the ridiculous thing handed to him in the first place. Think of all the attention, i.e. ridicule, it could bring to the McNuttlefields' cupidity and incompetence by then. ESPN is already notorious for Pirate-bashing, and this will be a hangin' curveball for them to hit into the Allegheny. Can you imagine what Gammons and Reynolds will say if the ASG's host team has only the single requisite bench-sitting representative, and maybe oh about 20 wins by July 11th? You think there won't be some IrateFans tee-shirts shown on tee-vee during the crowd shots? I betcha. On the other hand, as Mark Cuban has recently been quoted in the P-G as saying in reference to McClatchy (and implying a positive answer),
"Would you put up with the abuse for $15 million or $20 million a year?"
Note to GVuck if he happens by, site-host if not also web-coder for iratefans.com: I don't have your address so please drop me an email. I would love to help, within the limits of my ability to sit at computers these days. There might be a line at your door already, but if I can contribute, I'd be glad to. Copy editing, Photoshop, whatever.
And I know I'm way late with this but I need to say it anyway: Michael Keaton, You Da (Bat)Man.
